Tower FAQ’s

Airborne Towers are made of polished and anodised or in the case of our black products, epoxy coated 6061 grade aircraft aluminium which offers the highest structural strength with minimal weight.

All Airborne towers are fully adjustable to fit any boat with a beam of up to 2,5m. The mountings are adjustable through 360 degrees and will mount both a vertical and horizontal surface and anything in between.

There are 5 different models to suite any boat design.

We have a number of accessories that can be attached to the towers which include racks for Wakeboards, Kneeboards, skis or surfboards.  In addition there are tower speakers, mirrors and an array of biminis that can be supplied and fitted.

Airborne Towers were designed to be DIY friendly. Installation takes a few hours and would not require any specialised tools. A deck reinforcing kit available from us is mandatory.

Alternatively we have a country wide dealer network that do your installation if you prefer.

Set aside the better part of a morning for installation.

The deck of your boat, constructed from fibreglass which is designed to flex,  needs to be reinforced to increase the rigidity of the deck area behind the mountings.

Failure to do this will result in the tower shaking and possibly the gelcoat cracking around the mounts. It is a simple procedure using an Airborne deck reinforcing kit.

It is a simple modification to your existing cover that can be done by most upholsterers.

The tower should only be folded for storage – always keep the tower erect whilst towing. All our towers are capable of folding, the easiest is the Sabre (2-3 min) followed by the Air and the Swoop (5-6min)  and the Cutlass and Xtreme take about 10min

If you have a dual top frame tower like the Sabre, Xtreme or Cutlass, then it should be no problem.

It is not recommended to pull more than one wakeboarder or skier from a tower with a single top bar like the  Air or Swoop tower

One should NEVER tow a tube from any tower. It is dangerous as it severally impacts the boat handling and may result in injury and or death.

It will probably lead to damage of both your boat and tower

Yes you can.  We have a range of biminis that can be fitted to our towers.
